Virgo in 2026: your green months and your danger month

A total lunar eclipse landed on Virgo on 3 March, in the middle of a Mercury retrograde. That was the hinge, and everything since has been the consequence of what you decided in the fortnight after it.

What is left of 2026: September to December

Jupiter has been in Leo since 30 June, which for Virgo is the twelfth house — the least visible sector of the chart. That is why the second half of your year feels like nothing is happening. Something is. It is happening behind the wall, and it does not surface until Jupiter reaches your own sign in mid-2027.

So do not read the autumn as a verdict on your work. Venus retrogrades from early October to mid-November and Mercury, your ruler, from around 24 October — its third pass this year. That fortnight in early November is where you will be most convinced you have wasted 2026. You have not. You are in the quiet part of a cycle, and Virgos reliably mistake the quiet part for failure.

Use September and December. September is clear, and it is the last stretch before your ruler reverses — spend it asking the people your spring introduced you to. December is for the unglamorous consolidation this sign is genuinely best at.

Your green months were April to June — and that window has closed

Jupiter in Cancer sextiled your sign until 30 June. For Virgo that landed on friendships, networks and the people who can open doors — precisely the department you neglect, because you would rather be good at the work than known for it.

April through June was when introductions converted. Someone in your extended circle was in a position to move something for you, and the transit made asking easy. It never made it automatic. If you did not ask, nobody moved anything, and that is the whole mechanism.

May was the strongest month of your year: no retrograde, Jupiter still supportive, and the March eclipse eight weeks old and legible. It is gone. What follows is what remains.

Your danger month was March — it has been and gone

The total lunar eclipse of 3 March fell at roughly 12 degrees of Virgo, and Mercury, your ruler, was retrograde from late February until around 20 March. A lunar eclipse on your sign brought something to a head while a retrograde ruler kept the information incomplete.

Lunar eclipses deliver news rather than decisions. The Virgos who did well waited until after 20 March. The ones who fixed it inside the retrograde rebuilt the wrong structure very efficiently, and have been maintaining it ever since at their own expense.

If you are still doing unpaid maintenance on something you decided in the first fortnight of March, that is the year explained. It is also reversible, which is more than most March decisions are.

The Fire Horse part

2026 is 丙午, yang fire over yang fire, from Lichun on 4 February. Fire dries earth, and it does not wait for earth to be ready.

Your method is adjust, refine, adjust. That method requires time, and a Fire Horse year does not issue any. 2026 will repeatedly ask you to move before the thing is finished. You will experience this as being forced to do bad work. Some of it will be the best work you do all year.

The part you will not enjoy

Something in your life came to a head on 3 March, and you did not have clean information about it for another two weeks. What you did in that fortnight is the year.

The verdict

Start nothing in the last week of October. Finish one thing in December instead. 2026 was never going to be your visible year — that is 2027, and what you build quietly now is what surfaces then.

March handed you the information and you have been acting on it ever since, correctly or otherwise. The chart shows which, and what the quiet half of this year is actually building.

Questions people actually ask

What did the March 2026 lunar eclipse mean for Virgo?
The total lunar eclipse of 3 March sat at about 12 degrees of Virgo. If your Sun, Moon or rising is within roughly five degrees, it brought a long-running situation to a visible conclusion — and it did it while your ruling planet was retrograde, so the full picture arrived late, around the third week of March.
When is Mercury retrograde in 2026 and how does it affect Virgo?
Late February to mid-March, late June through most of July, and late October into mid-November. As a Mercury-ruled sign you feel all three as a loss of clarity rather than as broken technology. Two are behind you. The third runs from around 24 October, with Venus already retrograde alongside it.
What is the best month left for Virgo in 2026?
September. Nothing is retrograde, your ruler is direct, and it is the last clear stretch before late October. May was the strongest month of the year and it is spent; December is the second-best of what remains, once both retrogrades have finished.
